Item care
Vintage tableware deserves a little extra attention and that is exactly what makes it so special. Each item in our collection has been carefully selected and has already had a life. By caring for them in the right way, they will remain beautiful and functional for years to come.
Â
General maintenance
Wash vintage glasses and dishes preferably by hand, in lukewarm water.
Use a soft sponge or cloth. Avoid scouring pads or harsh cleaning agents.
Dry after with a soft cloth to avoid water stains.
Dishwasher?
Although some items are technically dishwasher safe, we advise against it. The heat, pressure and harsh agents can damage the paint, gloss or texture, especially on older or hand-decorated items.
Use of glasses
Use glasses for their intended purpose - for example, avoid pouring cocktails in wafer-thin wine glasses.
Avoid large temperature changes, such as holding a cold glass under hot water. This can cause cracking or breakage.
Inspect glasses regularly for small cracks or chips. Do not reuse damaged glasses.
Save
Store glasses upright and with plenty of space between them.
Avoid damp or dusty places. A closed cabinet or display case is ideal.
When stacking dishes: place a sheet of kitchen paper or felt between each piece to prevent scratching.
Small imperfections
Slight signs of use, small bubbles or discoloration at the rim are normal with vintage glassware - and just part of the charm. We always mention notable imperfections honestly in the product description.
